October 15 came and went, but Google still hasn’t made the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat or the Nexus 5 smartphone official as of now.

Considering older reports on the matter, we could expect it to make the move at the end of October, but a new rumor has made it online, suggesting that this might happen sooner than that, namely on October 18.

On its Google+ account, KitKat published a new teaser photo with the tagline “Everybody dance now! #AndroidKITKAT” attached to it, and it all started from there.

Some suggest that the post points at the "Everybody Dance Now" song by C&C Music Factory, which was launched on October 18, 1990, and which is 4 minutes and 4 seconds long.

We’ll take this with a grain of salt for the time being, but we’ll keep an eye out for more on the matter, so stay tuned.

Update: A post on KitKat's Twitter account is now said to be pointing at October 28 as the platform's release date.
