The computers will most likely be announced at WWDC, report says

A fresh report from the Far East, where most of Apple’s suppliers are located, reveals that WWDC will witness the unveiling of new MacBook laptops, none of which will represent a major upgrade.

That’s right. A DigiTimes report (which falls in line with with my own prediction from earlier today) says Apple is ready to release new MacBooks, with sources from the upstream supply chain expecting their orders to grow only 20% sequentially in the second quarter.

The reason for the small increase in orders is simple. The upgrades are said to be incremental, and likely won’t even include Retina displays (as far as the MacBook Air line is concerned).

The sources are cited as saying, “The new MacBooks are only expected to receive specification upgrades to Intel's latest Haswell platform and are estimated to be unveiled at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.”
