Since today seems to be Thunderbolt promotion day, LaCie has introduced five external hard disk drives / external HDD stations, some of which support USB 3.0 as well.

The full list is as follows:

-LaCie Rugged USB 3.0 Thunderbolt Series -LaCie d2 USB 3.0 Thunderbolt Series -LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt Series -LaCie 2big Thunderbolt Series -LaCie eSATA Hub Thunderbolt Series

All of them work with Windows PCs and Max Systems and are, mostly, meant to back up data and act as hubs, of sorts, for video streaming and the like.

The performance is of up to 800 MB/s and the supported operating systems are Mac OS X and Windows 7 and 8.

"Thunderbolt delivers unparalleled performance, flexibility and simplicity to personal computing," said Jason Ziller, Intel's director of Thunderbolt marketing and planning. "We are pleased with LaCie's support for Thunderbolt technology and ensuring end users have access to a variety of Thunderbolt solutions certified for connectivity on Mac and PC."
