The iPhone Dev Team has released a new version of PwnageTool in order to address issues experienced by users running Mac OS X 10..5 Leopard. Those who are running other versions of Mac OS X are not affected, the Team says.

An update to the hackers’ latest blog post reveals that PwnageTool 4.1.2 is now up for grabs, following another minor update - PwnageTool 4.1.1 - which Softpedia was late to documents.

However, it is known for a fact that PwnageTool 4.1.2 is tasked with fixing some problems that apparently stem from incompatibilities with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).

“Update: Version 4.1.2 should fix any issues that OS X 10.5.x users were seeing,” the Team’s post reads. “You only need to run this version if you’re at OS X 10.5.x and were seeing Cydia errors,” the hackers note.

The recent (major) update to PwnageTool released to the jailbreak community last week has been extremely welcomed by iOS device owners. So much, in fact, that the Dev Team’s blog began experiencing blackouts at some point, due to server overload.

PwnageTool can jailbreak all available iOS devices, including iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch third-, and fourth-generation, as well as the iPad and the second-generation Apple TV.

Softpedia doesn't encourage jailbreaking / unlocking the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad / Apple TV, or any other device.

This article has a purely informational purpose and doesn't, in any way, suggest that you should hack your Apple device.

Using hacks may render your device unusable, or may reduce the quality of your experience employing the respective device.

If you choose to download and install jailbreak tools, you will do so at your own risk. Unlocking / jailbreaking your iPhone / iPod touch / iPad / Apple TV may violate your warranty or the EULA with Apple and / or your cellular-service provider.
