Just when audiences thought this was the end of the “Mission: Impossible,” Tom Cruise is kick starting it again. The latest installment, “Ghost Protocol,” is out in December and we now have a first poster for it.

The first official photo from the film was released this summer and a simple look at it should give you a fair idea of where the inspiration for the just-released poster came from, because they're practically one and the same.

The difference is, of course, the addition of the film's three other stars, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg – but they're still behind Cruise in what can't but be a clear message that this is still Cruise's playground.

If so, this would contradict earlier reports that this installment would actually double as a reboot, in that it would see Cruise stepping down as lead, to be replaced by Renner.

All this aside, the poster promises lots of action, since the four seem to be walking either in a sandstorm or out of an explosion.

They all have their “serious faces” on and, given that this is the biggest challenge the team has ever faced, it's no wonder.

“Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” comes out on December 21. Select IMAX theaters will also show a 6-minute prologue of Chris Nolan's insanely anticipated “The Dark Knight Rises.”
