New Portable HDD Enclosures from Transcend

Transcend, known for its reliable
storage devices, launched its new line of portable HDDs. StoreJet3.5 devices integrate highly innovative features such as Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interfaces and insure a safe and secure backup for your information. The new line has a rich aluminum enclosure that can house regular 3.5" IDE or SATA HDDs. The HI-Speed USB 2.0 connection can deliver stunning speeds of 60 MB/s for file transfers. The devices feature a LED indicator to signal Power ON and data transfer states.

Dimensions of 198.5 mm X 123.4 mm X 35 mm make the new StoreJet 3.5 a compact enclosure. It features 12V/5V power adapter and it can operate at temperatures ranging from 5 degrees C to 60 degrees C. The enclosure (without any HDD inside) weighs 450 g. The StoreJet 3.5 also comes packed with USB B-Type to USB A-Type cable, power cable, vertical stand for improved reliability, four screws and a Software CD. It is compatible with Windows 98/98SE(needs special driver)/2000/Me/XP, Mac OS 9.x/ OS X and Linux Kernel 2.4.

StoreJet 3.5 HDDs are plug-and-play compliant and Transcend offers a 2 year warranty for them, but there is no information on pricing and availability.
