The source is quoted as "reliable" but the data should be taken with a grain of salt

Developer GameFreak is rumored to be working on the next Pokemon games, to be titled Plus and Minus, according to a “proven source” who also leaked the Kingdom Hearts HD Remix and other E3 rumors.

The information provided by the source is quoted on NeoGaf and provides numerous details on the alleged Pokemon Plus and Minus games, stating that a lot of concept art has been travelling back and forth between GameFreak and Nintendo.

The source says that the dev team is planning to implement a lot of the ideas they wanted to do for years in their next games, and that they are going to completely overhaul the battle system, greatly simplifying the process.

The events will be set in a background inspired by South East Asia, featuring one large peninsula and a multitude of smaller islands, connected to each other through water bridges or underwater tunnels.

There will be three new starters, yet unnamed. Water evolves into Water/Steel and is a teardrop-shaped humanoid that has a jar on its head. Fire evolves into Fire/Fairy and is a tiny goat with fire coming out of its horns, and will evolve to be more menacing-looking, with curved horns like a ram's.

Grass evolves into Grass/Electric, starting with a leaf instead of a head and evolving into an electric palm tree, with each flower petal having a different face. The main legendaries will be a Foo Dog-like Psychic/Ground type with multiple faces and a tornado Ghost/Fairy type with many appendages.

Many of the Pokemon from Hoenn and Sinnoh will make a return and there will be a variety of Pokemon Gyms as well as a new type of Pokemon that will “change the game significantly.”

The main playing area will be an MMO-like environment where players can chat, trade, interact and experience the new storylines made available.

For people disinterested in battling, a new Pokemon Band mechanic will be introduced, affording them a cooperative experience where Pokemon make music and dance together in order to achieve the highest group score.

The Pokemon Bank will be implemented as an actual in-game location where people can import previous Pokemon into the new game, mainly from the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y titles.

The information is presently only a rumor, but should it hold any truth, it will most probably be confirmed by either Nintendo or GameFreak officials in the near future.
