Sony announces the imminent release of new system software for their popular gaming (and not only) console, PlayStation 3.
In an official statement issued on Sony's blog related to PlayStation, system software version 4.10 is mentioned, with an expected release date of February 8. So far the new firmware is not live, but we're checking our sources on a regular basis, and we'll let you know as soon as it is up for grabs.
One of the new things about PlayStation 3 firmware 4.10 is the renaming of your PSN account: all the former names will now become Sony Entertainment Network Account, in an effort to unify the PlayStation Network (PSN) and the latter. The modification addresses only the name of the account and will not have anything to do with the PSN.
The new firmware will bring an improved PS3 Internet browser with faster display response. More details on the subject will be made available as the Sony PlayStation 3 system software 4.10 will be live.
Don't forget to check back with us periodically as we'll list the new firmware as soon as we get it.
