New Planetside 2 Trailer Shows Off Air Combat

Developer and publisher Sony Online Entertainment has released a new trailer for the upcoming Planetside 2 that shows the kind of experience that gamers will get when using the air combat mechanics of the title.

The Planetside concept gives gamers a lot of freedom when it comes to their role on the battlefield, encouraging them to find a role they are interested in and then focus on perfecting their performance.

Planetside 2 is defined as an MMO that uses first-person shooter mechanics, which means that damage and accuracy are governed by the skill of the gamer rather than simply by dice rolls that are handled by the game engine.

The plot of the game will revolve around three factions trying to control the planet of Auraxis.

The new game was revealed in 2011 and at the moment has no official launch date and the only confirmed version is linked to the PC.
