Coming as an addition to the existing ebb of tablet-related news and rumors, it seems that a recent listing on Amazon has revealed the existence of yet another device, developed by eLocity and apparently based on the Pine Trail platform.

Media slates are devices with a tablet form factor that rely on touch input and don't usually have prices far apart those of netbooks.

This new one, however, if the listing is to be believed, has a price about double that of any other tablet while relying on the same kind of hardware.

Granted, the listing is just an early leak, so the price will most likely be drastically cut once something official comes up.

On the more positive side, however, the leak at least gives away part of the specification list, such as the CPU and the storage, among other things.

Apparently, eLocity's tablet has a configuration centered around Intel's Atom N450 central processing unit, whose clock speed is of 1.66 GHz.

This chip is backed up by an unknown amount of RAM and either a hard disk drive (HDD) of 250 GB or a solid state drive (SSD) of 32 GB.

Other details mentioned include a 1.3 megapixel webcam and the high likelihood of Windows 7 being the pre-loaded operating system.

The device measures 3 inches by 9.6 inches by 14.3 inches, weighs 3.9 pounds and comes with a built-in stand.

The only more or less disconcerting detail about this electronic is, as already mentioned, its price of $849.99, which is, needless to say, quite huge.

So far, tablets have been selling for under $500, some even going well below that mark. Fortunately, the shipping date is not written, so it is almost certain that the final tag will be far lower. The listing can be found here.
