Simply an everyday phone

Clearly, Philips is a company that doesn't stick to just one thing. From light bulbs, to TV sets and mobiles, it does it all. While the mobile phones you can buy from it are not of the type that you know will make the headlines of today's newspapers, they are devices you can rely on.

Now, Philips is announcing a new Xenium phone, the X600 model. This is precisely the kind of phone that won't make all the headlines but it is certain to offer you all the basic functions, and even something on the side.

This handheld packs one of the batteries with the longest life ever – over 2 months. This is indeed enough to satisfy even the most exigent user, wouldn’t you say? Besides the really impressive standby time, the phone also boosts up to 10 hours of talk/use time, which is also pretty decent. However, it is obvious that this device was not designed for people who spend most of their time talking, but for the everyday life, for the working man, who just has a phone ready to make all those urgent calls, either to their kids or family. With this user in mind, the Xenium X600 seems to be the prefect choice.

Fortunately, Philips didn't just pack this one with a good battery. It also delivered some goodies. As with most mobile phones today, you get a camera, a 2 megapixel one, which is more than enough for an everyday phone. Other features include stereo Bluetooth connectivity, microSD card slot and GSM/EDGE network coverage. Of course, the device is expected to have at least an MP3 player, and even an MP4 player, since it boasts that camera and stereo Bluetooth connectivity.

For the time being, these are all the specs we could find for the Xenium X600, which is understandably since the phone has just passed the FCC. Hopefully, we'll be able to deliver more info soon, along with the release date and a price for it.
