New displays come out all the time, and it looks like Philips chose not to stay idle, so it put together a new product which is now fully detailed and set up for order as part of the T-line of TV monitors.

The main reason consumers often spend a long time figuring out what piece of hardware is best suited for them is because there are just so many of them always on sale.

It may not have been like this years ago, but the past decade saw the word “variety” take on a whole new meaning when it comes to practically every segment of the IT industry.

It is the display sector that just got an update, albeit a small one, from long-time maker Philips.

While there come times when a company or another delivers a dozen or more monitors/TVs at once, this once saw the arrival of just one Full HD TV.

Said panel is named 221TE2LB and has a display size of 21.5 inches, this being pretty much the standard form factor for mainstream users.

It utilizes a TN panel and W-LED backlighting, the latter of which enables a decent color gamut and a brightness of 250 cd/m2. Also, this being LED, a reasonable power efficiency is ensured as well.

What's more, Philips gave the newcomer a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1 (SmartContrast) as well as a response time of 5ms.

Furthermore, a pair of 3W speakers provide stereo sound, while a digital TV, as well as a D-Sub and HDMI input (plus S-Video and SCART ports) complete the feature set.

Finally, as the Full HD status makes it rather clear, the native resolution if 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. All in all, the Philips 221TE2LB has everything it needs to fit into both the monitor and TV categories.

European retailers should already have the T-line member up for order at a price of 217 Euro. Either way, all information may be found on the official product page.
