According to the latest news on the Internet, Philips plans to release into the wild in the near future two new mobile phones, namely the C600 and the W186. The former, the Philips C600, comes as a dual-mode device, while the latter, Philips W186, features support for HSDPA 3.6Mbps connectivity.

The Philips C600 is expected to come to the market with support for tri-band GSM networks (900/1800/1900 MHz), as well as for CDMA 800 MHz. In addition, the device is also reported to feature two call keys, one used for GSM, the other to work for CDMA.

The specification list of the new Philips mobile phone also includes a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen display, as well as a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper that also features video recording capabilities, an MP3 player, and 2.5MB of internal memory, coupled with a microSD memory card slot that offers support for up to 2GB of additional storage space.

The second new handset, the Philips W186, should be launched for China Unicom’s Wo brand, and includes support for tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) and dual-band UMTS (850/2100 MHz) connectivity, as well as the aforementioned HSDPA 3.6Mbps capabilities.

The handset is also expected to come to the market with a 2-inch TFT display that boasts a 176 x 220 pixel resolution, along with a 2-megapixel photo snapper that sports video recording capabilities, Bluetooth with A2DP, FM radio, as well as 150MB of internal memory, coupled with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space, with support for cards of up to 8GB.

Unfortunately, there are no exact details on when the mobile phones will come to the market, nor on the prices they should sport when available for purchase, but more should surface in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
