Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter is one of the few games that got mistakenly launched on the market even though it wasn't unfinished.

The game was launched back in October 2011 and received quite a few number of patches with huge changelogs, which are meant to fix some of the critical issues that made the title unplayable.

Today, developers Kerberos Studios released patch number 1.0.23640.2, which is supposed to fix several critical bugs. In addition, it brings the following changes:

- Added new auto options menu, including Goop and Joker modules. - News event system overhauled. - Mouse over colony faction morale while in the Starmap now gives a tool-tip with the last 3 events affecting that colony. - Double clicking on a battlerider in the battlerider manager now fills the current carrier wing with that type.
