The first full trailer for “Paranormal Activity 2,” the sequel to last year’s box office hit, has been released online – and it’s quite pretty scary, while also offering more clues into the plot.

As we also told you last week, it’s just now that Paramount Pictures, the movie studio behind the hit scarefest, is starting to shed more light on the plot of the second film.

Until now, fans only had a few hints and clues to go on – but they need to wonder no more now, as the new trailer sheds more light on the plot, Den of Geek reports.

For starters, the trailer confirms that, indeed, the one doing the haunting right now is Katie from the first film – or rather the demon that took over Katie is.

The question of why the second film is made of edited pieces from surveillance cameras is also addressed, as also is that of the baby – and whether it is evil or not.

“With that in mind, the promotional material we’ve seen thus far for Paranormal Activity 2 has been really quite impressive,” DOG notes, with the viral videos of last week also in mind.

“This latest promo does offer a little more, but not too much. But we can see the return of some of the key moments of the original film, as well as the still camerawork that defined the first movie,” the same report says.

At the same time, Den of Geek also underlines that, despite the movie studio’s obvious intention to keep the “PA” franchise going for another few years, it may already be burning the bridge under its feet.

“However, it does seem that this new trailer is throwing just a little bit too much into the mix. Or is that just us?” DOG asks.

“Last year, Paranormal Activity’s sleeper success was perhaps instrumental in the announcement that this latest Saw movie would be the last. However, there are clearly plans afoot to keep Paranormal Activity chugging for a few years yet,” the same e-zine says.

Perhaps all these questions will be answered once “Paranormal Activity” is out on October 21.

In the meantime, below is the first full official trailer. If you want to see more, check out the review for the first film here, and the 7 viral videos released last week here.
