Although its VIERA 3D HDTVs and Cloud services represented Panasonic's main announcements at CES 2011, the Japanese company also brought along for the ride plenty of other products, including a very large number of LUMIX digital cameras, such as the DMC-FH27 and FH25 models we'll talk about as follows.

The two new compact cameras from Panasonic employ a 16.1-megapixel sensor, accompanied by a 28mm wide-angle LEICA DC lens with 8x optical zoom, while the built-in Venus Engine VI image processor with Intelligent Resolution technology will manage to help speed up the compact digicam.

Additionally, the two models also deliver 720p High Definition (HD) video recording and an advanced iA (Intelligent Auto) system, that offers access to such features the MEGA OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Intelligent ISO Control, Face Detection and a built-in Intelligent Scene Selector.

Moreover, the LUMIX FH27 features full touch-control operation with the new Smart Touch Screen on its 3.0" large, 230,000-dot LCD display (this being, in fact, one of the few features differentiating the two new models released by Panasonic).

"The new Panasonic LUMIX FH27 and LUMIX FH25 build on the momentum from last year's introduction of the popular FH Series, which consumers loved for their size and performance," said David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.

"These digital cameras pack a powerful punch in a sleek, stylish design – from the wide-angle LEICA lens to the formidable zooming and smart features like Panasonic's advanced iA. Panasonic's goal with the FH Series is to provide consumers with high-quality features in a pocket-able, easy-to-use camera that does not sacrifice style," added Mr. Briganti.

Unfortunately, Panasonic's not been kind enough to reveal the pricing and/or availability dates of the two new FH-series digital cameras, saying just that pricing and availability will be announced 30 days prior to shipping date.
