Other handsets also on their way to the latter

Sunnyvale-based mobile phone maker Palm released its latest device, the Pre, about three months ago on Sprint's airwaves, and it seems that it might be ramping up to launch it with another carrier in the country as well, namely with Verizon. Some recently leaked screenshots of Big Red's inventory show that two Palm handsets are on their way to the carrier's offering, and rumors have it that we might be looking at the Palm Pre and Palm Eos.

The handsets are listed there as the P101 and P121, and PhoneArena says there are great chances that they are the already known webOS-based Palm phones, especially since the Pre and the P100 codename go together on Palm's website. For the time being there are no other details on the availability of the device on Verizon, and the fact that it could be the Pre is also only speculation, yet the operator already announced its intention to carry the phone after Sprint's exclusivity is over.

Other smartphones that should soon reach Verizon, and which have just been spotted in the leaked shots, are the BlackBerry Storm 2, HTC Touch Pro2 (XV6875), Samsung Omnia II, and the Samsung Convoy U640. For what it's worth, there is no surprise here, as the handsets are already known to come to Big Red's lineup, yet details on their availability and pricing are still missing. Hopefully, they will become official in the near future and more will be known then.

In related news, we learn that other Palm mobile phones are heading towards Sprint as well. Another leaked shot, this time from Sprint, shows the Palm 120 and C40 smartphones in the company's inventory. Unfortunately, no other details on these handsets have emerged, besides the $1 price they are listed with, though PreCentral suggests they might be the Eos (C40) and another version of Pre (P120). Stay tuned to learn more on this.
