The 750W power supply unit should have a high electric stability and efficiency

Normally, to make a truly strong PC with more than one video board and high-end processing and memory hardware, you need a power supply unit of 800-1000W, but there are some lower-wattage PSUs that let you do that too. Cooler Master has just released one.

Part of the V Semi-Modular Power Supply Series, the newcomer has an output of 750W but should still be able to fuel at least two video cards in addition to the core hardware of a desktop PC.

The PSU ships with a number of different cables. The core cables are fixed (like the 24-inch ATX connector and 8-pin EPS), but the others, like SATA power cables and PCI Express connectors (four 6+2 PIN connectors), are not.

Cooler Master could have probably managed to make the whole thing modular and release it as part of a different product line, but it would have defeated the purpose of trying to make a relatively affordable but good PSU.

Even so, it is not altogether clear whether this is supposed to be a mid-range but high-quality PSU or a performance-level model. The price of €92.35 / $92.35 - $123.71 is not exactly conclusive to that. By all accounts, the 80 Plus Gold energy efficiency could have demanded a higher figure. Then again, that tag is the VAT-free number.

For those unfamiliar with the exact efficiency of the 80 Plus Scale, the 80 Plus Gold level means that a power supply is 87% efficient at 20% load, 90% at 50% load, and 87% at 100% load. 100% japanese capacitors enhance stability.

The VSM750 is the highest-output member of the VSM series now, the others offering 450W, 550W, and 650W.

As for size, the newcomer is actually pretty small, with a depth of only 140 mm, which means that it can be used for high-end PCs packed in smaller cases.

LAN party computers come to mind, those micro-ATX or even mini-ITX systems that come packed in a case shaped like a cube or small rectangular box. Sometimes they even have a handle at the top. These computers are equipped with one or two video cards (depending on the internal layout) and other parts similar, strength-wise, to a full-fledged desktop PC. The compact size of Cooler Matser's new PSU makes it ideal for them.

Finally, the 3D circuit design reduces heat generation and unnecessary cabling, and, by extension, allows for less signal noise and lower crosstalk. Shipment dates will vary by region.
