Sony has just confirmed that a brand new bundle for its PSP-3000 console will be released at the end of the month in North America, including two games on UMD disc, Madden NFL 12 and Need for Speed Shift, as well as the actual handheld device.

Sony is working hard on the upcoming PlayStation Vita portable console, which has just received some updated release dates from the company for North America and Europe, where it will arrive next year.

This doesn't mean that Sony is neglecting the current PlayStation Portable device, which saw its price slashed earlier this year, and will soon see the release of a brand new bundle.

The new PSP Entertainment Pack is made in partnership with Electronic Arts, taking two popular games made by the company, Madden NFL 12 and Need for Speed Shift, bundling them together with the PSP-3000 model, and pricing them at $159.99.

"Starting on August 30th, we’ll be introducing a new PSP entertainment pack that is sure to get you psyched for this year’s football season. We have partnered up with EA once again to bring you another fantastic PSP bundle featuring two exciting games to get your adrenaline pumping – Madden NFL 12 and Need for Speed Shift."

"Featuring a black PSP-3000, 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, and both Madden NFL 12 and Need for Speed Shift on UMD, this new entertainment pack once again delivers great gaming on the go. It will be available at retailers nationwide for $159.99 (MSRP)."

Madden NFL 12, which will be released later this month, before the arrival of the PSP bundle, is the newest game in the extremely popular American football simulator series,, while NFS: Shift is an older racing game that still looks quite impressive on the portable console from Sony.
