Sony has confirmed for all its PS3 users that a new firmware update will be released on June 27 that will fix the issues and bricking caused by software 4.45 earlier this week.

PS3 owners from around the world were greeted with a message to update their PS3 software at the beginning of the week to version 4.45.

Sadly, many of them found that, after installing the new firmware, their console didn't boot up normally.

After receiving a loose confirmation from Sony of Japan, the company's European Twitter account confirmed that the fix has been found for the bricking caused by firmware 4.45 and that a new software update will soon be released.

The estimated launch date is June 27, so PS3 owners will have to wait until then.
