The update brings several new features but also lots of bugs

Nokia N9 users rejoice as Opera Software has just delivered a new update for the Opera Mobile application, which bumps the software to version 12.

The good news is that the new update adds several interesting new features and improvements, but the bad news is that it brings some bugs as well.

According to MyNokiaBlog, the Opera Mobile’s Nokia Store page is nowhere to be found on the N9, but that might have something to do with the smartphone’s location.

However, the update is real and some N9 owners have already reported the availability of Opera Mobile Labs 12 on the developer’s official forum.

According to user tigas, Nokia Store updated the Opera Mobile Labs installed on his N9 to version 12.00.2, though there was no changelog attached to it.

So far, the following changes have been reported, but the list might be much larger:

- Presto 2.10.254; - Possible to change User Agent (to S60, Android, MeeGo and Desktop); - Localization of the interface for Portuguese and possibly other languages; - Setting for using the native Harmattan keyboard (Always, for everything but web addresses, Never); - Adds new pages to Speed Dial.

Unfortunately, with the new features mentioned above come some bugs as well. It appears that the keyboard hides active text field and does not push page up.

In addition, the application always appears in landscape, regardless whether the phone and Opera are in portrait or not.

Furthermore, the native keyboard is now pretty hard to dismiss, while the text written by native keyboard appears annoyingly small on Google search field of the address bar.

It is also worth mentioning that Opera Mobile Labs 12 still does not support mobile extensions. Opera Mobile Labs is now available as a free download via Nokia Store on N9. Check it out here.
