Opera has issued a new Alpha release of its feature-packed web browser with the same name. Available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux, Opera now ships with a new technology platform called Opera Unite, which allows users to stream music or share files, photos and more, right from the browser.

Among the changes and new additions listed by Opera for version 10.20 Build 6793 Alpha 1, the developer mentions an improved widget installer UI, widget control buttons (available from top-right corner of the widget window), a renamed "Widget Import Wizard" to "Export Wizard," fixed widgets menu behavior, profiled bundles for widget runtime, updated default Speed Dials for the Opera Widgets for desktop alpha release and a bag of fixes all of which are listed right here.

“At Opera, we have always worked hard to innovate new ways to improve everyone’s browsing experience,” said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera, as the company was introducing Opera 10 Final. “Opera Turbo is our newest innovation, and one we think everyone should try, because we all will face a slow connection at some point. Now, there is a solution, and it is absolutely free. We are excited to offer Opera 10 to the world, and we hope even more people discover what the 40 million people who have already made the switch know: browsing with Opera makes the Web a safer, more enjoyable and more interesting place.”

Opera 10 comes in 43 languages for Windows, Mac, and Linux. On the Mac side, it requires at least Mac OS X Panther (Mac OS version 10.3) or higher on an Intel- or PowerPC-based system. Using the download link below, you can grab both the Opera application, as well as Widgets specifically tailored for the browser.
