In recent times, Nikon has unveiled two mirrorrless cameras, in the form of the J4 and V3, but if that’s not enough for you as far as mirorrless products are concerned, you’ll be glad to know that more are coming.

Nikon is planning to refresh the S1 model with a new camera that will arrive with 14.2MP sensor with 73 phase detection and 135 contrast detection AF points.

The new camera will be the successor of the one-year-old S1. Sadly, as in the case of the J4, the fresh mirrorless might never make it on the US market.

Anyway, the most recent rumors indicate that Nikon is getting ready to pull the new S2 camera out of the box as soon as May 15, says NikonRumors.

During the same event, we might end up seeing the Coolpix P700 and Coolpix P8000 make their debut into the wild, but this is not yet a certainty.

The last mirrorless camera to come from Nikon was the J4, a device boasting 20fps continuous shooting and a hybrid AF. The new product comes bundled with an 18.4 megapixel 1-inch (CX format) sensor.

In related news, on the same date, we should also see the Sony ROX100M3 compact camera be announced.
