Even with the Nexus 5 out, Google is still persisting in its campaign to promote the Nexus 7 2013 slate. The search giant has just rolled out two new commercials that highlight different aspects of the tablet.

The first commercial is called “In Play” and showcases the gaming capabilities of the device. In it, we see a young man sitting in an airport, bored, peaking at his neighbor, who’s playing on a Nexus 7 slate in order to entertain himself.

In a bar, two elderly gentlemen are enjoying a game of chess, but not the classic way, but using the same Google device. We’re also shown a boy and a girl playing in multi-player mode on the Nexus.

The second ad is focused on the eReader capabilities of the tablet. We’re shown three different people reciting Shakespeare to their loved ones or workmates. In all occasions, the Nexus 7 acts as a portable script from which they read the lines.

The device offers a superb 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The slate is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

There’s two cameras on board, the 5MP rear one and the 1.2MP one. The device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, but the KitKat update should hit soon enough.
