The new Nexus 10 continues to taunt users with its elusiveness

Yesterday we brought you news that the 32GB version of the Nexus 10 went “Out of Stock” in the Google Play Store, after the 16GB version followed the same path months ago.

Of course, the information rekindled all the hopes and dreams of those ardently hoping for a next-gen Nexus 10. But Google likes to keep a shroud of mystery over this particular device and even though the slate has been expected to make an appearance on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, the dawn of 2014 and CES 2014, we ended up empty handed.

The most recent rumor indicated that Samsung might be the one doing the honors by pulling the veil off the slate at the consumer trader show in Las Vegas, but the event came and went and we didn't see anything, except Sammy’s own four new slates.

However, a few hours ago our favorite leakster – @evleaks – posted a purported picture of the next-gen Nexus 10 (via TalkAndroid), which also revealed the specifications for the device (though they have appeared in the past before).

According to the post, the new Nexus 10 will indeed be manufactured by Samsung and will draw power from an Exynos 5 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Moreover, the slate will offer an impressive 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and bundle two cameras (5MP on the back and 3MP in the front).

Sadly, the Tweet has been pulled off shortly after and replaced by a message saying the information “was sent to multiple publications, along with slightly differing ‘corroborating’ evidence. Signs of a hoax.”

Previous rumors said the tablet would arrive with a Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM under the hood and a massive 9500 mAh battery.

The next-gen Nexus 10 saga seems to be never-ending at this point, and we can’t help but wonder if we’re ever going to see the real deal.
