NVIDIA, the leading manufacturer of computer graphics cards, recently announced the introduction of a new Quadro graphics card, namely the NVS 420. According to the Santa Clara, California-based chip maker, the new card has been designed to maximize productivity through a solution that comes in a small package. The new Quadro NVS 420 is capable of providing support for up to four high-resolution 30-inch displays. Thanks to its small footprint, the card can enable small form factor computer systems, designed to meet the requirements of professional users.

“The convenience of small form factor computers can now finally be matched with remarkable business graphics and digital display capabilities,” says Jeff Brown, general manager, Professional Solutions, NVIDIA. “The Quadro NVS 420 transforms these small form factor machines into business graphics powerhouses.”

NVIDIA's latest graphics card is capable of providing support for up to four 30-inch displays (high-resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels). The Quadro NVS 420 is shipped with the company's nView display software, designed to allow users to take advantage of all available displays, extending their work across one or multiple panels, a feature that enables them to maximize productivity.

As for technical specifications, the new Quadro card from NVIDIA is built on a PCI Express X16 interface and provides 512MB of memory, 16 CUDA Parallel Processor Cores and an 11.2 GB/s memory bandwidth. According to the green company, the card has a maximum power consumption of 40W and comes with support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0 and OpenGL 2.1.

The card also boasts NVIDIA's Unified Driver Architecture (UDA), designed to simplify the upgrade process of a system's graphics, by ensuring forward and backward compatibility with NVIDIA software drivers. According to the graphics card maker, the Quadro NVS 420 should become available in February for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $499.
