Phase 1 of construction will begin this June, right as summer starts

Last week, NVIDIA revealed its decision to build some new headquarters, right across the street from its existing ones in Santa Clara, California.

There were a couple of key details that weren't part of the 20th anniversary gift, so we asked the company about them.

It turns out that the first phase of construction will begin this summer (June 2013), and that employees will start moving in two years from now (2015).

We asked NVIDIA if it had an estimate of how many people would be hired, if any, but it said there was no way to give an estimate yet. At least it means that there will be a wave of new jobs. A good change of pace from the many workforce cuts in the IT sector of the past years.
