With focus on apps, Android Market

DROID by Motorola is one of the nicest handsets delivered to the market with Google's Android operating system on board, that's for sure. The device has been recently updated to the latest flavor of the mobile platform, Android 2.1, and Verizon thought of releasing new video ads for it, so as to show users that the phone can do more than expected.

It's a well-known fact that Verizon invested a lot in the marketing campaign put in place for DROID. Even before the device was available for purchase, the carrier started to air commercials for it, in an attempt to catch eyes and customers' interest. That “DROID Does” phrase familiar to enthusiasts is back in two new video ads, both of which can be seen embedded at the bottom of this article.

The new commercials for DROID by Motorola show a focus on applications available for download via the Android Market. The first of them brings to the front Google's Sky Map, while the second is focused on the Slacker Radio application available via the software portal. As usual, the new commercials also aim at the iPhone, as the second one stresses on the multitasking capabilities of DROID.

This is not the first time Verizon stresses on the applications available for DROID owners via the Android Market. The carrier has previously touted various software solutions for the device, and even announced that it would highlight some of them each week via the Verizon Channel in the Android Market. This time around, however, the video ads are also meant to stress on the fact that those thousands of apps in the storefront can remove the limits of what “DROID Does.” When compared to the original ads for the handset, the new ones show a higher focus on the phone's features and capabilities, so take a look at them to learn a little more on the matter.
