14 DAY TRIAL // Two new monitoring packs are now available for System Center 2012 - Configuration Manager and Orchestrator.
The new Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 - Configuration Manager was made available for download as version 5.0.7705.0, with improved monitoring capabilities.
The management pack was meant to provide the ability to monitor the health of Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
It does that by monitoring general health, data replication between Configuration Manager sites, SQL Server configurations, server and service availability, Backup and recovery and more.
The tool was also meant for the administration of Configuration Manager servers, computers, databases, services, disks, applications, and other objects.
Some of the main features of the monitoring pack include:
- Monitoring the availability status of all server roles - Monitoring the health status of key services - Monitoring SQL replication health status - Collecting and monitoring performance counters from Configuration Manager servers - A topology diagram of the Configuration Manager site hierarchy - Reports showing the availability status and performance of Configuration Manager servers
Along with this new management pack, Microsoft made available for download a utility for the monitoring of health and availability of Microsoft System Center 2012 - Orchestrator.
While the tool described above offers support for Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, this monitoring pack won’t work on Windows Server 2003, but offers compatibility with Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2.
The utility was meant to offer monitoring of Orchestrator Management Servers for service status and critical log file events through the Orchestrator Management Server Health.
Moreover, it comes with Orchestrator Runbook Server Health, which checks for service status and critical log file events on Orchestrator Runbook Servers, and with Orchestrator Web Components Health to monitor IIS 7 components that represent the Orchestrator Web Components.
The System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 – Orchestrator was released as version 7.0 and requires Windows PowerShell and Windows Server 2008 Internet Information Services 7 Management Pack to be imported to the management group before installation.
