The company normally makes peripherals but it doesn't shirk from other things

The Full HD resolution seems to be too pedestrian in I-O Data's eyes. After all, the latest monitor to leave its labs has a WQHD screen (2560 x 1440 pixels).

Called LCD-MF272CGBR, it has a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and a response time as low as 6.5 ms, and as high as 12.4 ms.

The monitor also gets a brightness of 440 cd/m2, which is actually more than most monitors and TVs really.

Between all that, the 178°/178° viewing angles and the four display inputs (dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI, and D-Sub), that's quite a feature set.

It doesn't exactly explain why the monitor costs as much as it does (79,800 JPY / $800 / €612 – 800), but at least it's not totally unjustified.

Shipments will start later this month (July 2013).
