Over the weekend some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players spotted two new maps in the game’s selection screen named Shipbreaker and Terminal, but developer Infinity Ward says that they might not actually be released for the game.

Plenty of new content has appeared for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in recent months, with various studios working hard on new maps and missions for the shooter.

Over the weekend two new map names appeared in the game’s multiplayer mode – Shipbreaker and Terminal – prompting many players to start asking developer Infinity Ward about their actual release.

Sadly, according to the game’s Executive Producer, Mark Rubin, the maps might not even be released, as a decision hasn’t been taken in regards to their fate.

According to him, the names only appeared due to a glitch and the actual content hasn’t even been made, so Infinity Ward won’t release the maps anytime soon.

Even so, new content is coming for the game, as three new maps for the Faceoff mode and a new Spec Ops mission have been released exclusively to Call of Duty Elite members on the Xbox 360 earlier today.
