Transcend, known especially as a leading company in flash memory products, has recently announced the latest of its MP3 players, dubbed T.sonic 840.

Regarding the player's design, apparently, the manufacturers chose a successful combination between a mirrored surface and a cold metal body that makes the player great to use in the hot summer. Even though its shape is kind of a bulky one, it still manages to look like a classy device, for women's only.

Judging by its convenient size of 82mm long x 40.5mm wide x 12.5mm deep, and light weight of 70 grams with the battery included, the player seems to be easy to carry in any kind of fancy purse. On the outside, the Transcend fellows enhanced the player with a nice and surprisingly generous 1.8-inch color TFT-LCD screen display with a high resolution of 176 x 220 pixels.

They say the screen size was chosen for better image and video playback. Besides that, the graphic user interface seems to have been a good idea, since it contrasts so well with the milky white screen, but also with the dark black chocolate-like casing.

Regarding the player's capabilities, it is first of all a multimedia center, so it comes naturally for the T.sonic 840 to support most of the file formats available on the market, such as MTV, JPG, BMP, MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM10, and WAV, meaning that - when it comes to music, movies or videos - it can be a great companion.

And since nothing compares to a good Agatha Christie's novel while traveling by train, the manufacturers added the e-book reading capability. In addition, it features a lyrics display, and comes equipped with no less than 7 EQ modes, that allows anyone to customize the player's sound, according to the personal taste.

Furthermore, with a single full-charged battery pack, the player is said to support up to 30 hours of continuous playback, so enough to for a whole day. And there is more. The player features an integrated FM tuner, a real time clock to display world time, A-B repeat function, and multi-language support. In addition, the built-in hi-Speed USB 2.0 connector provides fast charging and also quick data file transfer.

If you're still interested, the new T.sonic 840 is available in two capacities: 2GB in Glacier white casing and the 4GB one, in "Mystery Black" outfit. Unfortunately, there is no word on the price. Yet!
