Klaus Holse Andersen is the new Area Vice President of Western Europe and Microsoft Corporate Vice President, according to Microsoft. The Redmond company announced the move on May 22, 2009, in Paris, France. Andersen will take on his new role immediately, in fact, his official bio has already been updated to reflect the new position with the company. The new Corporate VP has been with the company for eight years, Microsoft informs.

As Area Vice President of Western Europe and Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Andersen will be responsible for the performance of sales, management and operations across no less than 14 countries in Western Europe. Before being “upgraded” to Area Vice President of Western Europe and Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Andersen occupied the position of Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) sales and operations and General Manager for Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen.

“Andersen joined Microsoft in 2001 as general manager of Microsoft Denmark and subsequently held several leadership roles at Microsoft, including Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) vice-president for Northern Europe, EMEA vice-president of MBS, and vice-president for the Small and Midmarket Solutions & Partner (SMS&P) Group,” the software giant reveals. Ahead of Microsoft, Andersen served as Chief Executive Officer for Internet Ventures Scandinavia, in Denmark. He joined Internet Ventures Scandinavia from the position of CEO for LIC Energy. In addition, Andersen was a 12-year veteran at Oracle, where he took on the role of Senior Vice President for Education.

Andersen had a number of different roles in his eight years with Microsoft, in addition to the position from which he moved to corporate VP. In the past, he also served as EMEA VP and General Manager at Microsoft Germany, EMEA VP Small and Medium Business and Business Solutions at Microsoft and VP Microsoft Northern Europe at Microsoft.
