Nadella wants to stay in touch with company fans on Twitter

Microsoft yesterday announced that Satya Nadella is the new CEO of the company, with Steve Ballmer retiring but staying on board for the next years.

Nadella has started his work as Microsoft CEO by posting a short message on Twitter to suggest that he really wants to stay in touch with company fans that are using social media.

“First commitment as CEO: I won’t wait 4 years between tweets!” he posted, as his previous post was dated July 11, 2010.

As Neowin notes, this single tweet makes Satya Nadella the most active Microsoft CEO when it comes to social media, as Bill Gates didn’t have an account on Twitter when he was a CEO, while Steve Ballmer never posted anything on the website.

Of course, this could also be a way to fix the company’s image, but it remains to be seen whether Satya Nadella is indeed willing to spend more time posting on social media in the coming years.
