SDXC memory cards are like SDHC cards only with greater capacities, or greatest possible capacities since they usually come in a full storage space range. This is definitely the case for the HP TF Class 10 from PNY.

PNY has only just released the HP TF Class 10 micro-SDXC card range, giving them a wide capacity coverage so that they might appeal to as many potential customers as possible. Which is to say, the newcomers don't only come in 64 GB, but also 32 GB, 16 GB, and 8 GB.

Performance is another asset. They are Class 10 cards after all, so they have certain standards to uphold. Then again, they mostly go well beyond the standard, when it comes to reading anyhow.

Class 10 asserts that a memory card has a writing speed of at least 10 MB/s and that it uses a high-speed bus mode.

Sure enough, the writing speed is of 10 MB/s. The read speed, though, is well beyond that level, at 200 MB/s for the 64 GB card. There is always some correlation between performance and capacity when it comes to solid state storage.

Yet some may say that 10 MB/s isn't exactly a stellar write performance, since there are memory cards that go well beyond that, to 30 MB/s sometimes.

Nevertheless, 10 MB/s is more than enough to properly record high-quality video and take high-resolution photos, even in burst mode. So you can definitely equip your camera or camcorder with one of these things and not worry about anything.

It doesn't even have to be a video or photo capture device. You can install it in a tablet PC too, provided that PC supports SDXC card. And they all do, as long as a memory card reader is included in the blueprints.

Of course, whoever has a DSLR camera or camcorder probably has a laptop or tablet as well, so the SDXC cards will be quite useful for quickly transferring recorded files, so that they may be freed for further storage.

Smartphones, BlackBerry devices, GPS systems, and mobile gaming consoles are among the possible applications as well. The SDXC card format really gets around.

Finally, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 operating systems are supported, as are Mac OS: 10.3 and above. Unfortunately, PNY did not include a price in its press release, so you'll have to keep an eye out for the new PNY HP TF Micro SDXC Class 10 cards at your local retailer. And the HP TF Micro SDHC cards for that matter.
