A brand new Michael Jackson track has been released as the first official single off the upcoming album “Michael:” “Breaking News” is officially a new Michael song, confirmation has come.

These past few days, there has been lots of speculation online about whether the new music released was really Michael’s. While “Opis None” doesn’t seem to be genuine, “Breaking News” is.

The song, released on the official webpage of the singer as a preview of the December album, where it can also be listened free of charge, takes a very close look at the star’s disastrous relationship with the media.

Even for non-fans, it’s not a secret that Michael did not approve of how the tabloid media would constantly peer into his personal life for tidbits to sell papers, or of how the paparazzi would hunt him down for the so-called money shot.

“Everybody wanting a piece of Michael Jackson/ Reporters stalking the moves of Michael Jackson/ Just when you thought he was done, he comes to give it again,” Michael sings.

Clearly, the message of the song is that, no matter how hard the media tries to put him down, he’s coming back because, at the end of the day, he wants to sing, not to please the media.

“They want to see that I fall, cause I’m Michael Jackson/ You write the words to destroy like it’s a weapon,” the late King of Pop says in “Breaking News.”

“The song is vintage Jackson. The initial beat will remind you of ‘Billie Jean’ and there are all sorts of MJ trademarks throughout,” TMZ reports.

“When you hear it, you will not be able to suppress the image of Jackson dancing to the song,” the same media outlet writes.

“The song was recorded at the home of music producer Eddie Cascio, when Michael Jackson was living there for four months in 2007. As good as the song is... it’s not the first single that will be released,” TMZ explains.

“Michael,” a brand new album from the King of Pop, is out in the US on December 14. Until then, here is where you can listen to “Breaking News.” Enjoy.
