After teasing Mass Effect 3 fans that it's going to talk about the game's ending soon, developer BioWare has finally revealed a few more things about its DLC plans for the recently released role playing shooter through the voice of its Producer, Casey Hudson.

Mass Effect 3 appeared last week and, while sales were more than impressive, some people weren't happy with the experience, either bombing its Metacritic user rating or complaining about the ending that didn't deliver, in their opinion, enough closure.

BioWare's various representatives confirmed throughout recent days that an elaborate talk about the ending will follow and now Mass Effect 3 Producer Casey Hudson has tackled the subject, offering some insight into what he and his team wanted to do with the recent game.

According to him, Mass Effect 3 was designed to deliver a bittersweet ending, as a conclusion of a war across the galaxy is never truly happy.

"We designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of your actions. You then carry the knowledge of these consequences with you as you complete the final moments of your journey," Hudson said.

"We always intended that the scale of the conflict and the underlying theme of sacrifice would lead to a bittersweet ending—to do otherwise would betray the agonizing decisions Shepard had to make along the way. Still, we wanted to give players the chance to experience an inspiring and uplifting ending; in a story where you face a hopeless struggle for basic survival, we see the final moments and imagery as offering victory and hope in the context of sacrifice and reflection."

Hudson notes that reactions to the ending have been all over the place, with some praising it, including many reviewers, while others, mostly fans, voicing their displeasure.

The Mass Effect 3 developer notes that fan feedback has been crucial to the Mass Effect series and promises that BioWare will listen to players when it's developer new content for the game.

"Throughout the next year, we will support Mass Effect 3 by working on new content. And we’ll keep listening, because your insights and constructive feedback will help determine what that content should be. This is not the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard. We look forward to your continued support and involvement as we work together to shape the remaining experiences in the story of the Mass Effect trilogy," Hudson concluded.

Basically, it seems that BioWare is more than aware of the impact Mass Effect 3's ending has had on its players and hopes to make it up with some fresh content that may or may not continue the adventures of Commander Shepard.
