Nintendo is confident that new entries in the Mario and Zelda franchises, like Mario Kart or the Wind Waker HD titles, will give the Wii U a much needed boost in terms of sales.

Nintendo has just presented its financial earnings results, and the actual sales figures for the Wii U home console aren't that impressive.

Even so, the Japanese company is confident in its own device and has confirmed that quite a lot of great first-party and third-party titles are coming that should motivate people to buy the console.

More specifically, Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros., Wii Fit, Pikmin 3, or The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, will give the Wii U a boost in sales momentum, according to Nintendo's statements, via VG247.

All these titles are set to appear in the "next several months," so expect to hear much more about them in the very near future.
