The new Airs could sport fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi chips and might be cheaper in some areas

New information has been leaked regarding Apple’s plans with the MacBook Air line. According to a new report, the computers will be upgraded internally and might be cheaper in some countries. New accessories are reportedly on the way too.

After leaking SKU numbers to confirm that Apple has plans to introduce new laptops at WWDC next week, 9to5mac has now received specific pricing for said stock keeping units.

The site reveals that “the price-points correspond to Apple’s current pricing for the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models.” In all fairness, this is all the confirmation one needs that Apple has some new models in store for us.

The same people who leaked the pricing information added that “Apple could drop the price slightly of the high-end MacBook Air in some countries,” according to the report.

The best part is yet to come.

“Some of the new MacBook Air SKUs are already shipping to stores around the world, so it is likely that they will go on sale soon after the announcement,” the same leak reads.

As far as the technical specifications are concerned, the computers are almost surely going to pack Intel’s new Haswell processors, and (this is less certain, but also probable) faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi chips.

The evidence for this new wireless specification was found in a Mountain Lion beta last month, and there has been a hardware leak to support this theory as well.

Apple will also be releasing accessories at WWDC, with 9to5 speculating that they are Wi-Fi base stations that match the 802.11ac standard. The site admits that the prices leaked for these accessories do not exactly match existing products at Apple.

In other words, it might just be that Apple plans to introduce an all-new breed of AirPorts/Time Capsules with different pricing too.
