A few minutes ago, Apple released a new Public Beta build (14D105g) for its upcoming Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite operating system designed for Macintosh computers. This is a pre-release version of Yosemite that improves the security, compatibility and performance of your Mac, and includes the Beta version of the highly anticipated Photos for Mac app that we reviewed earlier this month.

A bug that affected the latest MacBooks has been resolved in this new Mac OS X 10.10.3 Public Beta release. As we’ve previously reported, the final version of the third maintenance release of Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite will introduce new APIs that allow developers to add support for the Force Touch trackpad of the new MacBook into their applications, as well as a system wide Emoji picker.

Unfortunately, Apple has not announced when the final version of Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite will hit the streets, but we have enough information to assume that the release is imminent. It will be officially available to all users in a few weeks, most probably in early or mid-April, when the new Apple Watch and MacBook devices will be available for purchase from Apple’s stores worldwide.

Anyone can test the Public Beta of Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite

Once again, we remind everyone who wants to test the Public Beta releases of Mac OS X that they will have to sign up for Apple’s OS X Beta program. Anyone can install and test the Mac OS X 10.10.3 Public Beta operating system, but keep in mind that you won’t be able to revert to the current stable release of Mac OS X, version 10.10.2.

Detailed installation instructions are provided on the Apple Beta Software Program, just make sure that you backup all your important files first. Also, be aware that the operating system is unstable and might not function as expected.
