Windows Phone fans are probably aware that their favorite company Microsoft is expected to launch at least two new high-end smartphones later this year, which will arrive with Windows 10 Mobile out of the box.

These smartphones are known as the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, although we might see them arrive on the market under slightly different names. However, these upcoming models also leaked online with the codenames Cityman and Talkman, a naming scheme that was used by Nokia a long time ago, as some of you might remember.

Microsoft has also been rumored to be working on two mid-range devices alongside the two flagships we mentioned above, but until now we haven’t heard much about these models, which remain shrouded in a veil of mystery.

Microsoft is prepping an impressive slew of Lumia phones

But famous and now-retired leakster Evan Blass, who goes by the online moniker @evleaks, has recently published an interesting post in which he teases four new device codenames we haven’t heard of before, including Guilin, Honjo, Saana and Saimaa (the last two have a distinct Finnish vibe to them).

So, it is possible that two of these upcoming devices might be the mid-range Lumias we were telling you about. What about the other two? Your guess is as good as ours. Could it be that Microsoft is also looking to dub into the low-end sector of the market? Or maybe the company is actually working on more flagships than previously expected?

We don’t have any info about specs or anything else related to Guilin, Honjo, Saana and Saimaa for the time being, but we’ll update you as soon as we know more.

Purported specs of Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL

As we wait for more light to be shed on this department, we are taking the opportunity to remind you that, according to the rumor mill, the Lumia 940 should arrive with a 5.2-inch display with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and bundle a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset under the hood, complete with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The phone is supposed to make a debut with a powerful 20MP camera out of the box and a 3,000 mAh battery powering its entrails.

As for the Lumia 940 XL, we expect the phone to come out with a 5.7-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory (microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 128GB).

The two flagships are also tipped to bundle a USB Type-C and dual-role support, plus iris scanner and native pen support.
