Given the fact that short-throw projectors are extremely popular these days (especially in the corporate environment, where there's rarely enough space to set up a standard display solution of this type), InFocus has decided to add yet another such product to its lineup and hence unveiled the entry-level IN146 model, that delivers a couple of interesting features at a more than affordable price point.

First and foremost, it's important to point out that the projector from InFocus offers a WXGA (1280 x 800) native resolution, while its short-throw capabilities are nothing short of impressive, being able to project a 60-inch image from as little as 2.5 feet away, thus virtually eliminating all shadows and allowing for an enhanced quality of the presentations in almost all lighting conditions.

Moreover, the device boasts a small size, low-profile design and bright 2,700 lumens, not to mention 3D capabilities and an HDMI input, which makes it quite a sound investment for the future, when 3D-capable solutions and content will become a lot more widespread.

The projector also supports the addition of the optional InFocus LiteShow III wireless adapter, that manages to further boost its connectivity and networking option, while also packing filter-free DLP technology and a lamp with an estimated functioning life of around 6,000 hours.

“The IN146 is a great projector for any organization where space and budget constraints are tight,” said Robert Detwiler, InFocus product manager, adding that “from use with interactive whiteboards to an AV resource shared between classrooms or conference rooms, its features ensure flexible high-quality projection and a long, low-cost life.”

And when InFocus said that this thing was affordable, they sure weren't kidding around, since the IN146 sells for around 825 US dollars, which is really a small price to pay for such a product, all things considered.
