One of the biggest problems encountered by most people who have built their home entertainment systems around a media center or home-theater PC is the fact the controls can be often clunky or not particularly comfortable, and in order to mitigate this issue, Logitech has just released their Wireless Mouse M515, a mouse designed specifically for living-room use.

The Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 comes equipped with a sealed bottom, so that fabric fuzz won't collect in the sensor opening, practically enabling the use of the mouse on just about any type of material and/or surface, from couches to blankets, cushions, clothing, carpets, even desks.

Plus, the mouse also sports a hand-detection sensor, meaning that it will only activate upon being touched, thus saving quite a serious amount of battery power.

And since we've reached this topic, it's also interesting to note that, due to this power-saving system, the batteries should last for around 2 years or so.

Furthermore, the peripheral also offers multiple functioning modes, including Logitech Hyper-Fast Scrolling, that enables much faster browsing, but also a click-to-click mode.

Also notable is the “wireless plug-and-forget” connectivity, as Logitech puts it, enabled by the tiny Logitech Unifying receiver.

"Millions of people are connecting their computer to the TV, and the M515 mouse was built to address the unique needs of this experience," said Marcus Harvey, General Manager UK & IRE, Logitech.

"As technology evolves and consumers' habits change, Logitech continues to develop navigation devices that make it easier to control and access the things people love to do in the digital world," Mr. Harvey added.

The Logitech Wireless Mouse M515 is due to hit the shevles in April and will cost around 50 pounds sterling or 50 Euro, which is actually quite an OK price point, given its features and extensive level of versatility.
