Linkin Park teamed up with Steve Aoki for the band’s latest single, “A Light That Never Comes,” first performed in public at the Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo, Japan. The single is now available exclusively on Xbox Music.

You can listen to it in full above as well. That’s the official lyric video.

“The song will stream exclusively for 14 days on Xbox Music, Microsoft’s all-in-one music service,” Linkin Park founding member Mike Shinoda writes in a blog post on the Xbox Wire.

He also goes to great lengths to explain the partnership with Microsoft and how it was one they considered thoroughly and did for other reasons than money, as some skeptics might believe.

“As we met various people at Microsoft, I was inspired by the passion and creativity behind their innovations. We see our partnership with Microsoft to have the potential of finding new ways of creating, sharing and experiencing things together as a community,” he writes.

“A Light That Never Comes” will be included on the remix album “Recharged,” which comes out on October 29, 2013.
