The latest Yoga model is quite expensive

We were expecting Lenovo to launch new Yoga tablet models running Windows out of the box and the company did so a few weeks ago.

But at some point the rumor mill said Lenovo would also be offering 13-inch models running the same OS. However, during the big Yoga event Lenovo didn't say anything about such products and just unleashed the 8-inch and 10-inch variations.

Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet with Windows 8.1 is now official

Well, a few weeks later, Lenovo strikes back with the biggest model in its Yoga 2 tablet lineup to date (apart from the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro). It’s a 13-incher like the rumor mill prophesized, which runs Windows 8.1 out of the box and will start shipping in early November for the consistent price tag of $700 / €555.

Like the previous Yoga 2 models that launched not so long ago, the newcomer takes advantage of an Intel Atom Z7346 Bay Trail processor and bundles a hefty battery said to be able to take you as far as 15 hours of run time on a single charge.

The tablet comes with the same characteristic hinge design that allows the slate to sit itself up. If paired with a keyboard, the big Yoga can be quickly converted into a laptop.

While the smaller versions brought 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution to the tablet, the 13-incher throws in a little bit more, meaning you’ll get to take advantage of 2560 x 1400 pixel instead.

Everything onboard is fitted with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The tablet also embeds an 1.5W stereo speaker plus a 5W subwoofer.

Will you choose Windows or Android on your 13-incher?

As you can see, this model is quite similar to the 13-inch Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. The Windows model offers the same form factor and has the same resolution. However, there are a few differences to consider.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and offers just half the RAM capacity (2GB) and internal storage (32GB which is expandable to 64GB via microSD card).

On the bright side of things, the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro has a built-in pico projector, which basically lets you beam out media content or what not to any flat surface you have at your disposal, something that is pretty cool, considering you won’t find this feature with that many tablets

The Android tablet also sells for a cheaper price tag and can be yours for “just” $500 / €393. Still, if you prefer Windows on your tablet and you want a model with a spacious screen, the Lenovo Yoga 2 with 13.3-inch is for you.
