New Lego Batman Character Revealed

- The mad queen, Joker's loved one. Ladies and gentleman, we introduce to you Harley Quinn!

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Not to mention the real deal, I was and will always be a fan of Lego Games. That is one of the reasons I can barely wait to see Lego Batman: The Videogame in the stores. Of course that being Batman is a strong
enough reason to become a fan of the game before it has been launched, but much of its flavor comes with the twisted villains our hero has to fight against.

So Warner Bros and TT Games have revealed another character Batman will have to face off against in the game – a female villain this time. Queen of crime, psychopathic psychiatrist and the lover of the Joker and the princess of pranks straight out of the Comedia Dell Arte is her short bio and, yes, you've guessed it right: we're talking about Harley Quinn. Nice name, right?

Her story, for all the batfans out there, is quite simple: this girl, once a normal Lego being, was an Arkham Asylum psychiatrist assigned to treat The Joker. She was Dr. Harleen Quinzel back then, but not for long: the Clown Prince of Crime drove her mad, made her help him escape from the hospital and turned her in Harley Quinn – the Joker's devoted and lovestruck companion.

And, since her significant other hates Batman, so does she. This means that she will do anything she can (or is requested by The Joker) to defeat our hero. Taking into consideration her above average intelligence, enhanced strength and stamina, as well as superior acrobatic abilities and wicked sense of humor, we know that she will be a worthy foe and nothing we should take lightly.

In the Lego Batman video game, Harley Quinn will be playable and have the ability to walk a tight rope, perform super jumps and bypass security for all levels with guards in security booths. And, yes, we can barely wait to see her and the company in action! We'll have to wait a tad more, though, since the game is scheduled for a multi-platform Q3 2008 release.
