This time the phone seems real

There have been many speculations and fan-made images in the last year related to Nokia N96, but none of them had any strong connection with the truth. However, now we finally have what looks to be the real Nokia N96, thanks to some recently leaked images.

What first surprises us is the fact that Nokia N96 looks very similar to Nokia N81: the same slider form, the same music navigation keys and the same keypad. The handset only seems a bit larger than N81, but this might not be true as it could be just because of the way the photos were taken. Anyway, apparently N96 has a two-slider design, unlike N81 but similar to N95.

Aside from the images, there is no other information about N96, but the phone will probably come with specifications like the ones Nokia N95 has. So it seems we will have an improved N95 dressed as a N81.

There's no info about the Megapixels number of the digital camera included in Nokia N96, but it must be at least a 5 Megapixel one. Rumors were saying it could bring optical zoom, but the recent images do not sustain this feature. Other than that, as seen in the leaked photos, the camera has dual LED flash and Carl Zeiss lens.

Sometimes leaked images prove in the end to represent fake handsets, other times they really show the phone they say they show. There is a big possibility that the latest images of Nokia N96 represent the real device, but I suppose many of us hope they're fake. I say this because everyone expects greater things from Nokia and not just a N95 in a N81 case. Sure, such a device can only be an excellent mobile phone, but a new design would be really great. Let's see now what the official details bring, supposing (and hoping) that they will come soon.
