That, at least, is what the company says in its product announcement

Another day, another flash drive, although at this point we may as well make an addendum and turn the phrase into “another day, another OTG flash drive,” because Kingmax has just launched one such storage device.

Well, it would be more accurate to say that Kingmax has launched several drives, but they're ultimately the same product but with a different capacity and color.

Sadly, Kingmax chose not to actually specify the capacities for some reason, and in absence of retail listings we are left with guesswork.

We suspect that 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB capacities will be provided, at the very least, but 4 GB and 64 GB are also possible.

That said, the available colors include, but may not be limited to, blue, pink, and silver (really metallic grey, from the aluminum, but the shade is close enough to silver to qualify).

Since these are On-the-Go flash drives, they can read and copy files from smartphones and tablets without needing to use a PC to move them from one to the other first.

Which is to say, they let smartphones and tablets act as host devices, provided that a certain version of Android is installed on them (Android 4.0 or better, usually).

It beats Wi-Fi and Bluetooth if nothing else, since those means of sharing data can be slow or tedious (having to go file by file sometimes). Kingmax says the newcomers are good for when you go hiking or for other outdoor activities.

A micro USB 2.0 port had to be used for this to be possible, but the transfer speed of 480 Mbps should still be reached (that's the top limit for USB 2.0).

Kingmax PJ-01 measures 33 x 14 x 5 mm / 1.29 x 0.55 x 0.19 inches and supports Android, Window8/7, Vista, XP, 2000, and Mac 10.X operating systems. Prices haven't been mentioned, which was expected after finding that the capacities are ever so mysteriously absent.
