Let's hope you're not bored of all of this Kim Kardashian Vogue photo shoot controversy, because, as we predicted, it's going to stay with us for a while. It seems that, a week after the cover came out, there is a new rumor and controversy popping up every day. Today we're dealing with the one that says North West wore make-up during the photo shoot.

Naturally, there is a moral issue with putting make-up on an infant just for having it featured in a photo shoot. It's one thing for an adult or even maybe a younger child that can give out its consent to participate in the shoot, but for children that can't even walk or talk yet, it's a whole new, different ball game.

Cosmopolitan tackled the issue and got to speak with one of the make-up artists present on the set at the time the faithful shot took place. According to this person, Baby Nori didn't wear any make up in order to be featured with her mother and father.

They reckon, as does pretty much the rest of the world who's seen the photos, that North was actually the star of that photo shoot. “She didn't need it! She is such a little cutie,” says Aaron de Mey, head of makeup for the Vogue shoot. And that also includes any foundation.

That certainly wasn't the case with Kim, which did receive touch-ups for a look that the artist claims was inspired by the ‘60s. “She specifically colored her hair darker for the photoshoot and really thought about how she wanted to look on the cover, but she was also open to what I wanted to do,” says de Mey.

He goes on to praise the mother's looks “She has amazing lashes, so I chose to play them up along with creating a smoky look with chocolates, browns, taupes, and a little bit of gold on the inner corner of her eyes to make her eyes pop. And I stayed away from contouring — she has such a beautiful complexion and I really wanted that to show through, so I kept the rest of her face super clean and minimal when it came to the makeup.”

True to his constant creative energy overflow, Kanye had some opinions about Kim's dresses and make-up, but de Mey claims that they were mostly “in an encouraging way.” “He thought that her makeup looked very beautiful, but definitely had opinions on the dresses and the styles he liked best, but it was in a supportive way — it was lovely to see them interact with each other.”

In a previous interview, Kim revealed that she didn't know she was going to make the cover until the very last minute and that she struggled to keep the entire affair a secret from the press, going to great lengths not to leave any hints.

She also said that she felt honored by the cover feature, reminding everyone that she was the first reality star to pose for a Vogue cover, Kanye was the first rapper and they were both the first interracial couple.

However, not everyone felt in the same way. There has been a lot of criticism and Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief for the fashion magazine, received significant backlash for her decision to feature the power couple on the cover.
