A while ago, a couple of songs appeared online, pretending to be between the new releases Janet Jackson was about to make. Her new album, expected to come out this summer, was said to be represented by some of the songs that leaked to the Internet. But the artist firmly denies that the tracks are new
The only true thing is that these online songs belong to her. But the recordings were made quite a while ago, featuring music producer Rich Harrison. Janet has no intention though of putting them on the track for her revival album, "Control, 20 Years Old".
As the title shows, this year's album will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Janet's career-launching release, "Control". For this reason only and she should have been very careful with what appears as new stuff. But seemingly the Internet is too wild to be kept in strict control. "I have a tight rein on all of the music that has been recorded", J. J. declares for Billboard.com. Facts contradict her though

These are the only declarations directly coming from Janet. She says nothing at all about the indeed-new songs. It's only Internet sites that tell the story, just like it's been only the sites to offer the "new" songs.
"Pops Up", one of the songs that leaked online, is probably going to be remastered and re-released as "Speed It Up". "New stuff" becomes one more time a very relative concept when it comes to nowadays artists, so it seems But since no single is supposed to show up before May, we could take it that the track is between the scraps left from "Damita Jo", Janet Jackson's latest album.
